Doomsday Student
Doomsday Student
Doomsday Student is Eric Paul, Stephen Mattos, Craig Kureck, and Paul Vieira. Made up of members from bands such as Arab on Radar, The Chinese Stars, Athletic Automaton, and Chrome Jackson, one should not be particularly surprised by the level of dissonance, mania, and peculiarity thoughtfully melded into every layer of the music, from unsettling lyrics to hysteric guitars and irregular rhythms. Obnoxious to those who seek the obvious but beloved by many others.

Press Quotes:

“With the impending arrival of the band's third album, A Self-Help Tragedy, later this year, Doomsday Student are set to host their most debauched bacchanal yet.’
-Clrvynt

“There’s no onomatopoetic cold steel here. Instead, Doomsday Student squelch out their broken grooves in clammy, organic spasms. It’s deeply yucky music, and it’s awesome.”
-Stereogum

“It’s all a mess. It’s all just a beautiful mess. Just a beautiful fucking mess. I didn’t want it to end. Just wonderful.”
-Louder Than War

“Totally gross and weird and maybe just very slightly erotic.”
-Vice Magazine
Permanent Waves
Permanent Waves
Permanent Waves are a four piece electric band with traditional instrumentation consisting of Steve Santillan on the drums, Jeffrey McGrath on the guitar, Christina Billotte on vocals and Emmanuel Nicolaidis on bass guitar. Together they have crafted songs that are at once uplifting and poignant, shrill and melodic, music that makes you move but not necessarily groove.
