The Last Year
The Last Year
Hailing from Baltimore, The Last Year is an alternative rock band. The act stems from an idea of front-girl Niki Barr, on vocals, and Scott Ensign, playing bass and synth. The pair, complemented by drummer, BJ Kerwin, and guitarist, Scott Griffith, approach their music with a kaleidoscopic attitude, embracing diverse influences and refusing to give in to conventions. Having toured over 30 countries on three continents, The Last Year is no stranger to the stage. With their impressive light show, guided by Barr's coy, airy vocals that she expertly transforms into powerful rock melodies, and Ensign's layers of synth growls, the show is a spectacle and a must-see.

The Last Year's EP has been warmly received by fans and critics alike, especially lead single "Sugar", a tune that bridges the gap between the darkness of Joy Division and the infectious, radio-friendly indie rock hooks of bands like The Temper Trap; spicing it all up with female leading vocals that wouldn't feel out of place on a Garbage record. "Sugar" is currently receiving spins on HFS 97.5 Baltimore's Rock Alternative, Baltimore's 98 Rock, 98.7 WTMD, Phoenix's KWSS 93.9, and SiriusXM's Alt Nation.
Forged from the bone-metal of ancient dragons, Megosh rises, and the gods tremble...

Baltimore's Megosh has been toiling behind the scenes for some time brewing up a catalog of high-energy intelligent rock. Their music is melodic with post-progressive elements and frequent forays into the territory of alternative metal, but they manage to maintain an overriding pop sensibility. Megosh somehow fuses these eclectic ingredients into a surprisingly cohesive stew, a sound that is clearly their own. Impressively complex instrumental material will certainly appeal to the musician but, with Megosh, songcraft still reigns- creative use of rhythm and catchy melodies are certain to captivate a wide audience. On top of all this, the front line serves up tasty three-part harmonies- something rarely heard on today's rock scene.
Smantx is an Indie rock band originating from Baltimore. The group consists of Kyle Wesley (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Chris Dennard (lead guitar), Keni Luck (bass), and Eric Smith (drums). Having played on the most well-known stages in Baltimore, alongside artists that have more fame, Smantx and their music have created their own lane which is why they are rapidly creating a name for themselves. In a short time, they have become one of the most in-demand bands in Baltimore. As one fan put it, “Their music has this thing I can’t quite put my finger on, but I know I like it. It’s almost too good to listen to!”. After playing the song “The Wild” on their radio station and referencing a Smantx performance they had recently seen, the on-air personality at ClearChannel stated that the performance was, “phenomenal….Just hook after hook, after hook!” It’s not surprising that the band is experiencing an increase in fan attendance and organic social media following.
The Smantx story is one that includes harmful and life-altering health issues, drug addiction, depression, loss; even death, as well as all the other common issues that plague most bands. The beauty of their story is the tremendous belief in themselves to be able to overcome the odds and follow their dream. All of which, by the way, have been placed firmly within the music they’ve created.
Fatally Yours
After leaving the glitz and glamor of Los Angeles behind him, Bleed the Dream's Keith Thompson returned to his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. However, fate decided that music was not done with him quite yet. Thompson, along with his long-time best friend, lead guitarist, Christian Rivera, co-founded Fatally Yours in the spring of 2012 – a band which Thompson himself would front. Thompson and Rivera quickly recruited bassist, Chad Rollman, and former Rookie of the Year drummer, Justin Posner to fill out the rhythm section.

Since that time, Fatally Yours has independently released two EPs to rave reviews, shared the stage with major label acts such as Alice in Chains, Jane's Addiction, Coheed and Cambria, Circa Survive, Nonpoint, Walking Papers, Middle Class Rut, New Politics, Candlebox, Saliva, Young Guns, 12 Stones, Big Wreck, Glamour of the Kill, Taproot, and Adam Gontier (Three Days Grace), and became endorsees of great companies such as COLDCOCK Whiskey and Ernie Ball.

When asked about the band's dark and edgy themes, Thompson and Rivera had this to say: "Lyrically, it's about death and love," says Thompson, "I write a lot of dark things, but there is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel." Guitarist Christian Rivera agrees with that statement, but with a broader explanation: "From my standpoint, there are a lot of dark times everyone goes through, but you can still make it," Rivera says. "You should never, ever, ever give up on your dreams, no matter how far away that glimmer of light at the end of the dark tunnel seems to be."

The band is currently in the studio recording a follow-up to "Every Moment," to be entitled "The Dark and the Devil." The new EP is being produced by Thompson and Rivera with Tony Corelli, and will be mixed and mastered by Mike Ferretti (Sevendust, Candlelight Red) at Architekt Sound. The forthcoming EP is slated for a Fall 2014 release.

Fatally Yours has accomplished a lot under the radar, and has remained Baltimore, Maryland's best kept secret – until now.
